JUST IN: Oruarivie Abraka Kingdom Gets New PG

A new President General (PG) has been installed in Oruarivie Abraka Kingdom in Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State.

Chief Bernard Ughwumiakpor, was installed as the PG on Sunday at the palace by the traditional ruler, HRM Akpomeyoma Majoroh, Ojeta II.

Speaking to Oasis Magazine (OM) exclusively after the event, Chief Ughwumiakpor disclosed that a total of five persons vied for the position.

“Its not because I am the most educated of them that made me emerge. I have been working in this community since 1990 and I am loyal to the king and the kingdom.”

When asked what is his agenda, he said he hopes to make things work properly in the community.

Adding: “I will focus on the areas of security, light and anything that can bring about meaningful development to the area.”

Furthermore, he called on the community to support him in every way for there to be peace in the community.

He thanked the monarch for the opportunity to serve, saying that the Ovie is a blessed king, one that has wisdom and thinks before he acts.

“My loyalty is to the crown and also to the kingdom and I hope to work closely with the king for the overall benefit of the community,” he said.

To those that indicated interest to hold the position, he said, if I was in their shoes, the only thing I will do is to support the person that emerged, urging them to join him in bringing about progress in the kingdom.

“It’s not a do or die affair,” he opined.

The new PG hails from Urhougo, one of the four ruling houses in the kingdom.

He will be serving a three year term.
