Publisher of Secret Reporters and popular investigative journalist, Fejiro Oliver, has taken a swipe at the Okowa-led administration, saying that the Delta State Government signed a concession agreement for Asaba International Airport to those that have no knowledge about running an airport.
In a social media post, Oliver while faulting the move, said that Deltans have been sold to slavery by this arrangement.
According to him, Asaba Airport has been sold to Baba Ijebu and his son for 30 years.
Adding: “The company has no single idea on Airport management.”
Continuing, he alleged that “Rainoil is just there serving as a front for four key individuals in Okowa’s government.
“Radisson Blu Hotels is there because a big hotel is being built close to the hotel purportedly owned by Rainoil but he’s actually fronting for the real owner.
“Let me not just talk more than this before the state goes on fire.
“But just know this, that BABA IJEBU who is into money laundering as disclosed by CBN who shut down their accounts is now the new owner of Asaba Airport. When you see a name called Premier attached to the Asaba International Airport, know that you slept while they sold us to slavery.”
Attempts to speak with the Commissioner of Information in the state, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, proved abortive as he did not pick calls to his mobile phone number or reply text messages sent to him.
Meanwhile, Governor Okowa during the concession agreement for Asaba Airport on Tuesday with FDIC/Menzes Consortium, disclosed that “after a thorough and rigorous review/analysis of the bids by a separate committee headed by the Secretary to the State Government, the First Investment/Menzes Consortium was the preferred bidder, having provided demonstrable capacity to meet all the requirements of the Master Plan while also outlining their financial commitment and injection of new investments.”
