Ethiope East PDP Chairmanship Candidate Solicits Support Of Igbo Community In Abraka For Saturday Polls

The Chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State for the council elections on March 6, Hon. Victor Ofobrukueta, has assured Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Abraka that he will continue in the footsteps of the out-gone Chairman, Chief Faith Majemite by priotising their welfare if elected.

Ofobrukueta said this on Thursday when he visited Igbo Community in Abraka.

He was accompanied by Chief Majemite, Mr. Felix Erhimedafe, Chairman, PDP, Etiope East, Professor Nyenrowho Tonukari, Director General, PDP Campaign Organisation, Ethiope East, Roseline Esiso and others.

Continuing, he said: “I see you as a part of Ethiope East. You are partners. Today, I have come here to formally inform you that I am contesting and I urge you to vote for the PDP.

“Remember, once you do business in a place you are a part and parcel of the place. My administration will protect your businesses.”

Meanwhile, Majemite in her remarks said that Ofobrukueta will do better when he eventually emerges as the Chairman of the council.

“I have so much confidence in him; the young shall grow and he has what it takes to excel,” she said.

On his part, the Chairman of the party, Mr. Felix Erhiemedafe, said a long lasting relationship has always existed between the PDP and Igbo Community, saying that he is sure that they will not disappoint on Saturday.

In the same vein, the Director General of the Campaign Organisation of the party in the area, Tonukari, said the incoming Chairman will follow the footsteps of the out-gone Chairman and there will be peace in Igbo Community.

The group in their response thanked the PDP for accommodating the Igbos.
Speaking on behalf of the Igbo Community in Abraka, Nathan Ogechi Maduwuba (Ogishi Ndigbo) said even if the campaign train did not visit, they still would have voted for PDP.

He described the party’s candidate as humble and decent, as he urged him to continue to exude these virtues.
