Omo-Agege Says Ndokwa Nation Is The Underdevelopment Headquarters In Delta State

Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, has described the area covered by Ndokwa local government area as the headquarters of under-development across the country and in Delta State in particular.

The Deputy Senate President who spoke through his representative, Mr Chuks Erhire, made the statement in Kwale headquarters of Ndokwa West Local Government Area, on the occasion of a solidarity cocktail party organized in his honour by some Ndokwa youths under the umbrella of Ndokwa Nation Development Forum (NNDF).

Speaking further, he pointed out that Kwale metropolitan town which hosts over eight functional Oil and Gas firms and has contributed much to the national economy still wallow in a high level of unacceptable neglect and gross underdevelopment.

Adding that in spite of the abundant resources, and huge allocations from the federation account, today, what we see is squalor, poor infrastructure development, high level of poverty and all manners of crime and social vices arising from lack of opportunities.”

Senator Omo-Agege further observed that a cursory survey across Ndokwa area would reveal an objective and provoking condition of living standard among the people to the point of saying “Enough is Enough” of the type of government he termed to benefiting pains and anguish upon them.

“This is the moment for us to wake up and take our destinies in our hands if our children and grand children are to breath fresh air brought about by good governance in our state; let’s shift from agonizing to organizing.”

In other statements, the federal lawmaker noted that lack of the capacity to organize has been the reasons for so much poverty and underdevelopment.

He called on all to rise up to the challenges and mobilize against the forces and lead the people in the political battle that would remove the wicked governance structures and institutions that have held the people hostage at all levels in Delta State, if we don’t break loose from the shackles of prejudice, half truths and down right ignorance.

While applauding the initiators and organizers of the ceremony, the Deputy Senate President through his representative also commended them for championing the course of leading Ndokwa Nation to form a strategic alliance with him in a mutually beneficial partnership that would change the dynamics of politics and development trajectory of Ndokwa Nation.

“In a strategic alliance two parties combine their respective resources, capabilities and core competencies to better their lot and actuate better results,” he emphasized.

He stated that the ceremony formed the beginning of a journey that would bring about a turnaround in the political scene.

He stressed the essence of political development of communities and empowerment of the people, urging Ndokwa indigenes to consolidate on the political alliance against those whose stock in trade is to negotiate their common wealth away for their personal gains.
