Ayuba Elkana Assumes Duty As 31st Commissioner Of Police In Zamfara

The Zamfara State Police Command has disclosed that CP Ayuba N. Elkana psc+, an indigene of Gombe state, on Friday assumed duty as the 31st Commissioner of Police in Zamfara State.
He took over from his predecessor, CP Hussaini Rabiu psc,who was redeployed to Imo State Command as the Commissioner of Police.
The new Zamfara state police boss, was born on 11th August, 1962 in Gombe state.
He attended both primary and secondary schools in Gombe State.
He graduated from University of Maiduguri in Borno State and obtained Bsc. Geography in 1985.
After his successful graduation, he did his National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) in 1986.
CP Ayuba N. Elkana was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 3rd march, 1990 as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (C/ASP) where he was professionally trained at the prestigious Police Academy (Kaduna Annex).

WORKING EXPERIENCE
After completing the training, CP Ayuba N. Elkana was posted to Cross River State Police Command where he underwent a one year compulsory attachment for cadet officers, and later served in the following commands/ Formations-
Divisional Police officer (DPO), Owerri Urban Division, Imo State.
Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Okigwe Division, Imo State,
Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Bulabulin Division, Borno State,
Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Damboa Division, Borno State among others.
When he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police, he held the following positions.
AC CID Kebbi State Command,
Commandant Police Training School, Benin City, Edo State among others.
At the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba N. Elkana headed the following departments,
DC Federal Operations, Force Headquarters, Annex Lagos,
DC Finance and Administration, Lagos State Command,
DC SCID, Zamfara State Police Command,
DC Administration, Department of Research and Planning, Force Headquarters, Abuja,
DC Zonal CID, Zone 12 Bauchi State,
DC Operations, Zamfara State Police Command.
When promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba N. Ayuba was posted to the Force Headquarters Abuja as CP Force Provost Marshal, where he was found fit and Posted to Zamfara State as the 31st Commissioner of Police.

In 2018, CP Ayuba N. Elkana was in China for a study tour.
While meeting with the Strategic and Tactical Commanders of the Command, CP Elkana urged them to be more alive to their responsibilities and ensure discipline and professional conduct in their respective departments so that effective Police Service delivery can be provided to members of the public.
He further reminded them on the transformation and repositioning agenda of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba psc +, NPM,fdc, and therefore called on everyone to redouble his commitment and hard work in order to actualize the agenda.
The new CP called on members of the public to improve and sustain the already existing synergy with all the security agencies especially the police in an effort to rid the state of activities of criminal elements.
