DTSG To Establish E-Planning Studio For Building Approvals

Delta State Commissioner for Lands and Surveys, Mrs Kate Onianwa said the government is set to establish an electronic planning studio for building approvals in the state.
The commissioner stated this on Wednesday in her office during a courtesy call by staff of the Department of Town Planning of her ministry led by the director, Mr Victor Ogbugo.
According to the commissioner e- planning studio would help the department to digitalize all the building plans for easy assessment, access and approval.
She added that other tools needed for their operations would be provided in ensuring that the goals of their department were achieved.

“Department of Town planning is one the departments that boost the revenue of the State which is in line with the realization of stronger Delta mantra of Governor Okowa led administration hence we Will not relent in creating an enabling environment for your operations,” she stated.
Earlier, Mr Victor Ogbugo, disclosed that some developers insist on developing their plan without approved building plan and urged the commissioner in making sure that such people faced the law.
In the same vein, the Area planning officer in Agbor, Mr Nathaniel Osanebi complained that those developers who builds without building plans either build on weekends or employ thugs to attack them when they were on site inspection.
He, however, urged the commissioner to address the situation, saying that the state was losing a lot of revenue through the act.
Also, the Deputy Director of Town Planning, Mr kehinde Ogaga, commended the commissioner for her support and commitment in ensuring that the department works effectively.
