BREAKING: Trouble in Mubi Over 12 AM Planned APC Congress
Trouble looms in Adamawa’s Mubi North and South Local Government Areas, where “politicians were planning to steal the mandate of the poor masses,” according to reports.
According to reports reaching THE GAZETTE, despite the letter signed and distributed by the All Progressive Party (APC) National Office, which approved October 12th, 2021 as the date for the APC congress to be held in the two LGAs of Adamawa State, some political loggerheads planned to hijack the congress using all resources available to them.
Senator Ishaku Abbo, who represents Adamawa Northern Zone in the National Assembly and is also from Mubi North, has noted in several updates on his official Facebook profile that the APC congresses were later rumored to be held at Yelwa Primary School premises, but that access was denied by the school principal because students were in session.
At 10 PM of October 12th, Abbo updated his followers that “Election Materials are living Yola now to Mubi to conduct LGA party congresses in the dead of the night.”
Noting that; “The Area commander of Mubi and the DPOs of Mubi North and south were transferred yesterday with new DPOs and two Area Commanders reporting to Mubi with over 200 Policemen deployed for just an internal party Congress.”

Recall that in September, THE GAZETTE reported of the broiling crisis in the party in Mubi where Abbo and former governor Bindow have threatened court case over Congress.
When THE GAZETTE visited the congress’s approved venue, only delegates were spotted waiting in large numbers till 6 p.m., with no electoral committee or election materials, present because the officials were unable to be found. The delegates were forced to disperse to their homes as a result of this.
In their desperate attempt to hijack the party structure, Jaafar Magaji was accused of secretly tinkering with the delegate’s list agreed and submitted by all stakeholders by removing the names of authentic delegates from the master list and replacing them with their cronies, as well as forging official signatures.
Alhaji Njobdi Sali Kwaja was said to have carried the cross, which according to the party was found guilty of tampering with the delegate’s lists of Kwaja ward from the original lists by the committee, and his behavior was judged to be unacceptable under Article 21 A (xi) of the party standards.
Also, recall that the wife of the President of Nigeria, Mrs. Aisha Buhari was allegedly reported to be working in collusion with the former Vice-Chairman of the North East Zone, Comrade Mustapha Salihu, and the party’s Financial Secretary, Mr. Saidu Naira, to achieve her goal, according to the disgruntled members of the party.
They alleged that the foursome in Abuja changed the majority of the names from the ward and local congress congresses forwarded to the APC national office, resulting in a slew of legal lawsuits contesting the changes.
Chieftains of the party threatened to leave if the problem is not addressed in accordance with the party’s constitution.
