Ajede Meets Ukwuani People, Lists Achievements

On Thursday, Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government Area, Barrister Possible Ajede, held a stakeholders meeting with representatives of the good people of Ukwuani, to intimate them on the achievements of his administration since inception.
The Chairman in his speech listed out all the projects embarked upon by his administration within a period of eight months in office and the efforts put in place to ensure that the projects were completed and commissioned as a way of marking his 100 days in office as the Council Chairman.
Ajede stated that he has been carrying out his assignments and duties strategically and ensuring that he carries everyone along, saying that his administration is not the type that makes so much noise with achievements.
“This government is a grassroot government and having understood the position I am occupying, I can boldly say that it’s a government of the people and when you want to interact with the people, it’s the grassroot you go to and interact with the people, as my aim is to intimate them of what my administration has done, ask them questions to know their challenges and how we can position ourselves to ensure that our people get the dividends of democracy which we have promised our them.”
The Chairman listed out many of the projects his administration has accomplished so far in office.

These include-
1. Obi – Obeti Market was upgraded with new stores built to boost commerce in the community
2. Ethiope Primary School witness facility upgrade with face-lift of two blocks of classrooms including office blocks.
3. Ezionum farmers got 5 culverts built leading to their farm roads
4. Farmers of Waterside communities in their hundreds and over one thousand got palliatives to cushion the effects of hunger inflicted on them by Fulani Herdsmen invasion of their farmlands
5. Secondary and primary school students/pupils received free extra mural lessons during holidays to boost their academic performance during resumption
6. The office of the Chairman took a new look with innovative ideas of the Chairman and his Excos
7. Work has been made easier for management staff of the Council through provision of official cars that were lacking
8. Teen mentoring consultation with NYSC and Department of Education ongoing to ensure sustainability of programme
9. Enterprise Development Programme launched by appointing DG to steer Micro Enterprise Programme in Ukwuani LGA.
And many other projects.
Responding the people of Ukwuani said they have not had this good in the area just as they appreciated the chairman for deeming it fit to call for a briefing of this kind which has kept them informed of his successes and challenges.
Chief Omorege of Obiaruku community who spoke on behalf of the representatives added that such meetings also give them the room to speak up and inform him more of their challenges.
