The minister in charge of the Zion Baptist church, Igbeku Community in Sapele Local government area of Delta State, Rev Raymond Agi, has described marriage as an everlasting union between couples till death do part.

Rev Agi who officiated at the ocassion when ThankGod Mene, tied the nuptial nut with his wife in a colourful ceremony, said marriage is a state where the couple live together for ever no matter the circumstance except death.

He explained that this arrangement is a lawful union according to the Bible which says man, one wife, woman one husband and both must live together as one thereafter.

The cleric maintained that when God created man, he discovered that he was alone and caused him to sleep and from his ribs he created a wife for him as a divine surprise because he had not seen her before then.

Rev Agi, a renowned Baptist preacher added that “for you to enjoy your marriage, you must see it as a divine gift from God. God knows the desire of our brother ThankGod and Sonia his wife. When man saw the woman his wife, he was happy. The man with a good wife obtained favour of God.”

He stated further, “Man and his wife must cherish each other. If they want to understand their marriage, they must see each other as a gift from God. We must appreciate God for doing this for us. Some men value other women just because they do not value their own wife. This is not God’s plan for man. The value you put on your wife makes her beautiful.”

“If you take good care of your wife, she will look good and very beautiful each other day. But if you refuse to do this, she will look very old and ugly before your very eyes. Malachy’s 2 : 16 says, if you must marry, then you have to take good care of your wife. With this, the more the women will cherish God and her husband and the wife will be very happy each day. With this, both parties will be happy together.”

He advised couples never to discuss their marriages with third party or outsiders which oftentimes brings sorrow into many marriages, explaining that it is at this point that the serpent cripped in and if they are not careful enough, one of them will listen to the serpent and eat his food, and from there, marriages will be broken.

He prayed to God Almighty to continue to protect the marriage of ThankGod Mene and his wife, Mrs Sonia Mene as he enjoined them to always love themselves and worship God with all their minds including their children which they must bring up fervently in the ways of the Lord.

At the traditional marriage ceremony, which preceeded the church wedding in Late Chief Biokoro’s compound at Eko community in Amukpe District, the couple appreciated God for making their day colourful, while thanking those who graced the epoch making event from all over the country.

The parents of the bride, Mr and Mrs Biokoro who were visably happy for the successful event commended all that made the event possible.
