Zainab Ahmed Reacts To Fire Incident At Federal Ministry Of Finance Headquarters, Denies Reports

The Honorable Minister, Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed, has said that reports that the Federal Ministry of Finance Headquarters was gutted by fire is false.
The minister denied the reports in a statement signed by her Special Adviser, Media & Communications, Yunusa Tanko Abdullahi.

Recall that an earlier report by the Punch said that the Federal Ministry of Finance Headquarters located in the Central Area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, was on fire.

The said report added that the Spokesperson of the Federal Fire Service, Abraham Paul, confirmed the incident, saying that the personnel of the fire service are currently battling the fire.
But according to the statement by the Minister, the fire incident was “on the corridor in the basement involving an isolated battery Pack,” adding that “it was quickly put out by the security personnel on duty.”
