Classical International School Holds 2022 Cultural Day

Classical International School, Warri, with branches in Effurun, Ovwian, Ekpan and Orhoakpor, on Saturday held the grand finale of the 2022 ‘Cultural Day’ event.
The colourful programme that took place at the school’s headquarters saw several cultural displays by students and pupils to the cheering of parents and guests that came from Delta and beyond to witness the auspicious occasion.
Delivering his address, Director, Classical International School, Dr. Ochuko Akpeme, said this year’s event started three weeks ago at Ovwian branch.
According to him, from there they moved to Orhoakpor, then Ekpan and Effurun before the grand finale at the school’s headquarters.
Continuing, he said that the reason for the yearly celebration was to celebrate and promote different cultures.
He disclosed that it was while he was in school studying Engineering that he discovered he was gifted in the area of education and that has resulted in the celebrated Classical School today.

He said education cannot be termed complete without culture, stressing that at Classical, they give balanced education, hence the yearly event.
He added: “Parents can attest to it that we also give attention to sports, spirituality, craft, handwork and entrepreneurship.
“Classical students cannot be looking for job when they get out of school because we give them total education.”
Dance presentations by students from different tribes such as Urhobo, Edo, Isoko, Yoruba, Hausa, Ibibio and Kalabari, Ijaw, Igbo and Itsekiri, spiced up the event.
Also, prizes were given to parents that came out tops during the contest of the best well-prepared local dish.
Another highlight of the occasion was an on-the-spot assessment of craft works produced by students.
Caps, jotters, bags and hats were some of the items on display.
