JUST IN: Buhari Asks Senate To Confirm Ariwoola As Substantive CJN

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the confirmation of acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as substantive CJN.
The order was contained in a letter addressed to the Senate on Tuesday.
The letter was read by Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, during the plenary.

According to the letter, Buhari said the move is in line with Section One (1) of the Constitution of Nigeria.
Recall that Justice Olukayode Ariwoola was appointed acting Chief Justice of Nigeria following the resignation of ex-CJN, Justice Tanko Mohammed on June 27, 2022.
