Police Recover Lexus Jeep Snatched From Owner Along Ughelli-Warri Road

Operatives attached to Otu-Jeremi Police Station have recovered a snatched Lexus 350 SUV with reg. no. LG 31 GRA.
The police officers on Wednesday at about 1.47p.m, while on stop and search duty, along Owawha/Okwagbe road, noted a u-turn by the driver of the said vehicle.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Bright Edafe, added that the car sped off immediately after the u-turn.
“This aroused the suspicion of the Policemen who gave them a hot chase. At Oghior/ Imode road, in Ughelli South LGA, the hoodlums abandoned the vehicle and escaped into the bush,” the police said.

Adding: “When the vehicle was searched, one pump action gun, two locally made guns and six rounds of live cartridges were recovered.”
According to the statement, “investigation later revealed that the SUV was earlier snatched from the owner along Ughelli-Warri Road,” saying that “manhunt for the fleeing suspect is ongoing.”
