Oborevwori Appoints Senior Vanguard Reporter As CPS

Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborovweri has appointed Vanguard’s senior reporter, Festus Ahon as Chief Press Secretary.
This appointment follows his swearing-in as governor of the oil-rich state on Monday.

Publisher of Secret Reporters who reacted to the news in a Facebook post, said: “As I type, he’s currently in Governor’s office with Sheriff.”
Adding: “He will be announcing the SSG and Chief of Staff shortly.”
When contacted, Ahon told Oasis Magazine: “The news of the
appointment is confirmed.”
Meanwhile, speaking to Oasis Magazine, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Delta State Council, Comrade Mike Ikeogwu, while congratulating the new CPS, applauded the choice of the governor, saying it was a choice of a round peg in a round hole.
“I have no doubt that by this move the governor had demonstrated his willingness to work closely with Delta NUJ.
“We wish the governor well and we hope to.see him reach out more to us in order for us to partner with him to move the state forward,” he opined.
