Prolonged Power Outage Hits Warri
By Ambrose Ologide
A prolonged power outage has hit Warri, the commercial hub of Delta State, as major parts have been without electricity since Wednesday last week.
The areas that were affected as at the time of filing this report included Iyara, Odibo, Bazunu, parts of Okumagba Layout, Warri Garage among others.
Efforts to reach the Public Relations Officer of Benin Electricity Distribution Company ( BEDC ) for comments were unsuccessful.
However, consumers were not happy about the ugly situation.
One of them, Chief Raymond Onose called on the authorities concerned to restore electricity to the affected areas.
He alleged that staff of BEDC distributed electricity bills to consumers inspite of its poor service.
Onose called on both the state and federal lawmakers to enact laws to check excesses in the interest of consumers.
