Abe 1 Withdraws Chieftaincy From Okorotete
HRM Dr Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON Abe 1, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom has withdrawn the chieftaincy title of one of his chiefs, Venatious Okotete who hails from Ugbomro Community.
This was contained in a letter signed by the traditional ruler titled : Withdrawal Of Approval of Your Appointment As A Traditional Chief Of Uvwie Kingdom, dated 21st December, 2023 made available to newsmen.
The letter stated in part : ” That the approval of your appointment as a traditional chief in Uvwie Kingdom be withdrawn and same is hereby withdrawn immediately in the interest of peace, or order and / or good traditional government of Uvwie Kingdom and as required by relevant Uvwie Customary Law.

“That by this withdrawal of approval, you cease to be a chief of Uvwie Kingdom henceforth.
” That the rights, privileges and benefits associated with the Uvwie chieftaincy titles including but not limited to wearing chieftaincy robes is hereby proscribed”
” However, as an Uvwie son , we wish you well in all your endeavours and hope that you have learnt your lesson.”
The traditional ruler had stated in the letter that pursuant to the power confered on him as the statutory prescribed authority of Uvwie Kingdom and all other traditional authority in that regards and exhaustive deliberation of the conduct and / or activities of Okorotete over a period of time by the Ovie in council, at the Executive Council of Ogwedion R ‘ Uvwie ( Exco ) in the meeting held on Thursday , 21st December, 2023, the decisions were taken.
