BREAKING: SuperSport Will Not Broadcast AFCON 2023

SuperSport Channel has announced its decision not to broadcast the highly anticipated Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023, scheduled to take place from January 13th to February 11th, 2024.

The channel cited the inability to secure broadcasting rights for the prestigious tournament as the primary reason behind this unexpected development.

In a holding statement released today, SuperSport expressed regret over the situation but assured football enthusiasts that they won’t miss out on the AFCON 2023 action.

According to the statement, the games will still be accessible through partner broadcast stations on Free to Air (FTA) channels, ensuring that fans across the continent can stay connected to the tournament’s excitement.

Multichoice Africa, the parent company of SuperSport, emphasized its ongoing commitment to providing unparalleled access to football and entertainment.

Despite the setback with AFCON 2023, Multichoice assured its customers that they can continue to enjoy a wide range of football competitions on DStv and GOt platforms. This includes popular leagues such as the Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A, Zambian Super League, and various other prestigious tournaments.

Meanwhile, the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) has revealed that it will televise all 52 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) games, giving fans hope amidst this development.
