Primary, Secondary Schools In Delta To Resume Second Term Jan 8

All Public and Private Primary and Secondary Schools in Delta State will resume Second Term academic activities on Monday, January 8, 2024 .
A statement from the Permanent Secretary in charge of the Ministry of Primary Education and Ministry of Secondary Education, Mr. Augustine Oghoro, on behalf of the Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu and his counterpart in charge of the Ministry of Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu indicated that the resumption was for the second term of the 2023/2024 Academic Session.
The statement said that boarders would resume on Sunday, January 7, while classes would begin on Monday, January 8, 2024.
It advised teachers in the state to discharge their duties with renewed vigour and commitment, adding that they were key stakeholders in driving the Oborevwori administration’s MORE agenda in the education system.

While reiterating the State Government determination to ensure a conducive learning environment in schools, the statement appreciated teachers for their efforts thus far in contributing to the growth and development of the education sector.
Oghoro in the statement urged parents to prepare their children and wards for school resumption and enjoined teachers to be in their duty post effect from Monday, January 8 just as the statement called on learners to take their studies seriously.
The statement explained that any defaulting teacher would be sanctioned appropriately.
It further disclosed that the two Commissioners and the Permanent Secretary would lead officials of the Ministry of Primary Education and Ministry of Secondary Education respectively, to monitor the level of compliance of teachers and learners in schools across the State.
