SNELEI: NEMA Begins Distribution Of Relief Support To Flood Victims, Others
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has flag-off distribution exercise of relief and livelihood support to households affected by the 2022 flood and vulnerable individuals under the Special National Economic Livelihood Emergency Intervention (SNELEI) in Adamawa State.
The livelihood distribution was inaugurated in Yola on Tuesday 16th Jan, 2024, by Mr. Ahmed Halilu Kangiwa, who was ably represented the Director General of NEMA, Mustapha Habib Ahmed, along with representatives of the Executive Governor of Adamawa State and other relevant stakeholders in disaster management.
In his remarks, Mr. Ahmed Kangiwa, representing the DG NEMA, stated that a total of 24,276 households were verified and targeted to benefit from this special intervention across the 21 LGAs.
He advised beneficiaries to utilize the items responsibly to enhance their socio-economic conditions.
“Beneficiaries are also urged to maintain order during the distribution exercise, ensuring that all verified individuals receive their items.
Agricultural inputs such as crop seedlings and equipment are provided to support farmers, stimulate crop production, and safeguard national food security amidst economic challenges,” he emphasized.
