Asagba Of Asaba: "I Looked Forward To Celebrating His 100th Birthday" --Uduaghan

Former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has said that he is deeply saddened by the loss of the Asagba of Asaba, Obi (Prof.) Joseph Edozien.

The former governor in a statement on Friday, joined the Governor and all Deltans in mourning the passing onto glory of “his friend and an admirable royal father of peace in Delta state.”

In his words: “I am especially pained because I looked forward to celebrating his 100th birthday. In fact, a thousand trees had been planted around Asaba as part of activities prepared for the grand celebration.”

Adding: “Cerebral, frank, kind-hearted and truly a father of our capital, Obi was a royal father all round.

“As Governor, I benefitted from his wealth of knowledge and wisdom in navigating my administration. The reign of Asagba ushered peace and prosperity to Asaba, which has attracted people from Nigeria as a tourist destination, city of hospitality, entertainment and commerce.”

According to him, “monarchs don’t die.”

He continued: “My family and I shall greatly miss him as his legacies continue to live in our hearts.
