DELSUTH: Resident Doctors Give Update On Warning Strike, Appreciate Oborevwori

Resident Doctors at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, DELSUTH under the aegis of Association of Resident Doctors, ARD, have commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for granting their demands, saying.he is a listening governor.

Secretary and Dr. Erhire Clinton Umukoro, PRO.

Recall that the Association of Resident Doctors DELSUTH proceeded on a warning strike some weeks ago.

ARD had given the condition to end the strike to include palpable MRTF 2024, revised CONMESS, Advanced Wage Award and a meeting with the Governor to discuss the plethora of issues negatively impacting optimal patient care and the training of Residents.

According to the statement, “the Executive Governor of Delta State has lived up to the electioneering axiom: “Sheriff will listen, Sheriff will do more.”

The statement continued: “We therefore, on behalf of the entire membership of the Association, extend our sincere appreciation to the Governor for signing the Revised CONMESS and for the step-by-step approach he is adopting to reposition the Teaching Hospital. We are committed and ready to work with him towards achieving the goal of restoring the lost glory of the Teaching Hospital Oghara for the good of all Deltans and the surrounding areas.

“We also wish to express our appreciation to the following individuals for their support: SSG Dr. Kingsley Emu, Hon. Commissioner of Health Hon. Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, Director of Protocols to the Governor Chief Sunday Onoriode, the Accountant General of Delta State, a supportive and ever-ready advocate for the Teaching Hospital, and of course our dear brother and Personal Physician to the Governor, Dr. Ejiro Orhewere, for his invaluable behind-the-scenes contributions. Appreciation to the Technical Adviser to the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Omovigho Agbele, for his technical support. The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Philomena Okeowo has been a mother. The Director of Medical Training and services, Dr. Chris Iwegbu is one workaholic too many, ever ready to do his bit.”

“We are confident that with these individuals supporting our dear Governor, the Teaching Hospital will achieve a new and improved status in no time, well-positioned to provide optimal patient care,” the statement added.
