DTSG Organises JET State Final For Students In Delta

In a bid to encourage and reawaken science consciousness in children, the Delta State Government, has organized the State final of the Junior Engineer’s, Technicians and Scientist (JETS) Competition for Junior and Senior Secondary School students in the state.
Speaking at the event which held in Government Model Secondary School, Asaba , the Functioning Director, Department of Science Education in Ministries of Primary and Secondary Education, Sir(Dr.) Steve Igheghe said that the JETS competition was designed to draw the attention of the children to the knowledge of science.
Sir(Dr.) Igheghe stated that 30 students qualifed from the preliminary stage of the competition were the selected students for the state final based on their performances.

He said that the 30 students were made up of 18 for junior category and 18 also for the senior category.
Sir(Dr.) Igheghe explained that the best 3 students would receive award from the state government through the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and would also represent Delta State at the national level of the competition.
He urged the students to believe in themselves and put in their best in the competition.
