LGA Polls: Victory For Egbo, As APC Candidate Withdraws From Chairmanship Race In Ughelli
The chairmanship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, for Ughelli North Local Government Council in Delta State, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, will coast to victory unchallenged in the local government elections taking place in the state tomorrow Saturday, July 13, 2024.
This followed Friday’s withdrawal from the chairmanship race by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Olorogun Monday Otobrise.
Olorogun Otobrise announced his stepping from the chairmanship race on Friday evening through a post on his Facebook page and went further to congratulate Olorogun Egbo as he awaits the declaration of his victory by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC.

He wrote, “I Olorogun Monday Otobrise the candidate of All Progressives Congress ( APC) hereby announce my withdrawal from tomorrow’s July 13th DESIEC election and also congratulate the candidate of People’s Democratic Party, Olorogun Jaro Egbo for his awaiting victory at the pool. I want to also use this medium to appreciate all my supporters and party faithful for their overwhelming support. Thanks. Olorogun Monday Otobrise.”
In a display of sportsmanship, Olorogun Egbo in a trending video immediately stormed the Ughelli residence of Olorogun Otobrise, to express his deep appreciation to him for conceding victory and accepting to key into the MORE agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Meanwhile, some political pundits have predicted that with Olorogun Jaro Egbo as chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, the influence of the main opposition political party APC in Delta State in Ughelli North Local Government Area will gradually whittle down in a matter of months.
