Butchers Commence Registration Of Members In Delta

The National Butchers Union of Nigeria (NBUN), Delta State Chapter has started the registration of practicing butchers across the state in preparation for the forthcoming election in the union.
In a chat with journalists after the meeting of the committee held at the Otovwodo Abattoir in Ughelli, Ughelli North LGA of Delta State, the Chairman, Comrade Oris Orido noted that butchers are now better organized, just as he expressed the desire to take the union to the next level in the state with the support and cooperation of members.
He solicited for continuous unity and understanding, adding that the importance of registering practicing butchers in the state can not be undermined in view of the benefits attached.
He appreciated the National Chairman of the union for his fatherly advice and role that ushered in the existing peace in the Delta State chapter, promising that that all hands would be on deck to sustain the peace already achieved.
Speaking further, the chairman also expressed the readiness of the union to partner with the governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori in his M.O.R.E agenda program for the development of the state, noting that the governor started very well and should be encouraged and adequately supported to succeed.

The Secretary, Comrd Paul Udoka in his comments noted that the union has been reformed to forge ahead in oneness and progress after some period of fractionalization of the group, adding that the issue of faction in the union has been laid to rest and that those who are saying there is no union should get it clear and loud that there is union and it is working for the good of all members across the state.
He was full of thanks to the National Chairman, Chief Bob Izua for making it possible for the Delta State chapter of the union to experience fresh air of unity in the state for the overall interest of the butchers and non butchers alike.
In his part, the former Committee Chairman of the union in the state, now the Patron, Comrd Godin Orivwo expressed happiness that the unfortunate acrimony that hindered the progress of the union after his tenure has been amicably resolved.
He noted that if there had been unity ,members would have been benefitting long ago, adding that the union has to grow and by the time there is unity among members, the union would be forceful and would be reckoned with as desire.
Speaking further, he described the new chairman,Comrade Oris Orido as level headed and capable of managing the affairs of the union as mandated by the National Chairman, Bob Izua and other stakeholders at the top.
He passionately appealed to the butchers to continue embracing oneness and also make themselves available for the ongoing registration of the members, adding that the need to have the members properly registered can not be overemphasized in view of the forthcoming elections in the union as far as Delta State is concerned.
