2 Killed In Imo Market Bomb Explosion
…Police Begin Investigation
The Imo State Police Command has confirmed the death of two individuals following an explosion caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at the International Market in Orlu on Tuesday.
In a statement, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, revealed that the explosion injured several people as they attempted to flee the scene. He explained that initial investigations suggested the deceased were attempting to set up the IED when it detonated.

“The preliminary findings indicate that the two individuals, suspected to be the bomb makers, were killed in the process of handling the device,” Okoye stated.
Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, has since dispatched Anti-Bomb personnel to the site to further secure the area and investigate the incident. Okoye reassured market traders and local residents to remain calm, urging them to report any suspicious activities to authorities.
