DISNA 2024: Traditional Ruler, Ufuophu-Biri, Delta NUJ, Others Applaud Oasis Magazine

Leading Delta State based online platform, Oasis Magazine got kudos for its existence and achievements so far.

This was contained in the various remarks about the eleven years old magazine during the 2nd edition of ‘ Distinguished Nigerian Awards, code named: ‘ DISNA 2024 at Asaba, Delta State Headquarters on Thursday 7th November, 2024.

Those who spoke at the auspicious occasion and in an exclusive media interaction with our correspondent shortly after the event, included the highly esteemed traditional ruler of Umieghwa of Abraka Kingdom, HRM ( AVM ) Lucky Ochuko Ararile ( rtd ), the Rector of Delta Polytechnic Otefe – Oghara, Professor Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri, the Chairman, Nigerian Union of Journalists ( NUJ ), Delta State Council, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, Executive Director, Classical Schools, Delta State, Deacon ( Dr ) Ochuko Akpeme, the Vice Chairman of Nigerian Counselling of Nigeria (CASSON), Delta State Chapter, Comrade ( Mrs ) Dr. Ambassador Rose Obi among others.

The Ovie of Umiaghwa – Abraka in his brief speech, commended the media house for recognizing the excellent achievements of the awardees with the honour of the awards.

Professor Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri, lauded the online magazine in its achievements in digital journalism so far.

While Comrade Churchill Oyowe stated that the Delta State Council of NUJ was proud of having Oasis Magazine as a chapel, as he noted that the event has boosted the image of NUJ Delta State Council

“It is not just having a chapel in order to beef up numbers but to create awareness of the existence of the chapel and our great union.

“Oasis has challenged other chapels to be up and doing by coming up with activities that will boost the image of the council.

“We believe that this is just a stepping stone for Oasis.

“We say kudos to Oasis Magazine and its Chapel,” he added.

The Executive Director of Classical Schools Delta State, Deacon Dr Ochuko Akpeme who was ably representated by Pastor Fredrick Okuko spoke in the same vein as he urged other media organizations to borrow a leaf from Oasis Magazine.

Comrade ( Mrs ) Dr Ambassador Rose Obi was also full of praises for Oasis Magazine as she remarked that the Executive Chairman and Publisher of Oasis Magazine, Pastor Daniel Umukoro is a pace setter.

The Executive Chairman and Publisher of the foremost online magazine, Pastor Umukoro had earlier in his key note address stated among other things that “DISNA represents Oasis Magazine’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding outstanding individuals and organizations.

“After a seven year hiatus, we aim to make this an annual event, growing bigger and better with time.

“I extend my gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this event.

“Oasis Magazine has made a statement today, and this is just the beginning,” he added.

The event featured talks on Artificial Intelligence among others.

High points of the epoch making event included the investiture of HRM ( AVM ) Lucky Ochuko Ararile (rtd) the Ovie of Umiaghwa – Abraka Kingdom, Comrade Mrs Dr Ambassador Rose Elohor Obi as Patron and patroness respectively and giving of awards to recipients and the inauguration of Oasis Magazine Chapel.
