Okowa’s Arrest Is Politically Motivated, Omagbemi Alleges

A prominent leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Warri Urhobo, Voke Omagbemi has alleged that the arrest of former Governor of Delta State , Senator Ifeanyi Okowa was politically motivated.

Omagbemi made the allegation in a media chat with our correspondent in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area on Tuesday, 5th November, 2024, as he noted that the arrest was aimed at destroying the credible political career of the former Governor of Delta State.

The Okere Urhobo born political icon, noted that Senator Okowa has one of the finest political career as a councilor, Secretary to Local Government Council, Chairman of local government council, commissioner , secretary to the Delta State Government and senator of Federal Republic of Nigeria and through all these periods there was no financial indictment against him.

He declared that Senator Okowa is the most formidable force of opposition in the South South geopolitical zone.

Omagbemi therefore alleged that the former Governor of Delta state was being victimized because of his being a strong force of opposition by the powers that be.

Omagbemi however called for calm among the teaming supporters of Senator Okowa as he reasoned that the former Governor of Delta State is innocent of the offences until he is declared guilty by a competent court of jurisdiction.
