Court Orders Final Forfeiture Of Warehouse, Containers Linked To Godwin Emefiele
A Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the final forfeiture of a warehouse and 54 steel containers linked to Godwin Emefiele, the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had applied for the forfeiture, citing that the assets were reasonably suspected to have been acquired with proceeds of unlawful activities.
The court’s decision follows an interim forfeiture order issued earlier, which was not contested by Emefiele or any other claimant.

The forfeited assets include a warehouse built on a landed property measuring 1.925 hectares, located along the Lagos/Ibadan expressway in Magboro, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, and 54 general-purpose steel containers.
This development is the latest in a series of forfeiture orders linked to Emefiele, with previous rulings resulting in the forfeiture of properties valued at over N11.14 billion and another N1.04 billion, as well as $2.045 million and seven premium properties.
