Good Governance: Oborevwori Set For UPU Hall Of Fame Dec. 7

An illustrious son of Urhobo Nation, and Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, will be inducted into the highly prestigious Urhobo Progress Union, UPU Worldwide Hall of Fame on Saturday 7th December.
Chairman, Planning Committee of 2024 UPU Urhobo National Day Celebration, Rev. Fr. Christopher Ekabo, in a statement on Sunday, said the full-blown red carpet event is part of the 3-Day UPU Annual event with the Theme: “Repositioning Urhobo Nation For More Prosperity,” under the distinguished chairmanship of Chief John Oguma, Board Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Obakpor Engineering Ltd.

The event slated for day-two of the Urhobo sociocultural organisation’s annual cultural day is specifically to recognize and appreciate governor Oborevwori’s good governance strides since assumption of office, on the one hand, and as a great achiever who through several endeavours and service to humanity brought uncommon development and honour to Urhobo nation, and Delta State in general, on the other hand.
According to Rev Fr Ekabo, governor Oborevwori shall be inducted into UPU Worldwide Hall of Fame as an Urhobo prominent son during the Urhobo Cultural Day at Urhobo House, Uvwiamuge Agbarho in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, beginning from 10am.
President General of UPU worldwide, Olorogun (Barr) Ese Gam Owe, and other top ranking executive members of UPU, Royal Fathers, President Generals of Kingdoms, as well as members of the State Executive Council, elected and appointed top government officials across board in Delta State and at federal levels, senior government officials, Urhobo sons and daughters, home and abroad, and top dignitaries from all walks of life are expected to grace the mega event.
“Urhobo Nation shall agog for our indefatigable leader and performing governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, during the Urhobo Culture Day on 7th December.
“It’s going to be a super red carpet event meant to usher Elder Oborevwori into UPU Worldwide Hall of Fame. It’s the Urhobo Nation’s way of appreciating a hard working governor who is currently Advancing Delta in multifaceted positive ways.
“His good governance strides are visible across the three senatorial districts through the construction of several mega infrastructural development projects including; ongoing construction of three flyovers and pedestrian bridges, dualization of Ughelli-Asaba Highway and other projects, ongoing and those that have been commissioned, since he took over the mantle of leadership on May 29, 2023.
“We are fully prepared to do the needful. We shall give honour to whom honour is due. Governor Oborevwori is the man, and he shall be inducted into the UPU Worldwide Hall of Fame on December 7,” Ekabo assured.
Other activities lined up to mark the 2024 Urhobo National Day celebration include; a plenary session on Day one, Friday 6th December and an Inter-Denominational Church Service at 12 Noon on Sunday 8th December, respectively.
The plenary session will do justice to the Theme: “Repositioning Urhobo Nation For More Prosperity,” which coincidentally resonate with the MORE agenda of governor Sheriff Oborevwori, JP.
