Max Air Confirms Emergency Landing In Maiduguri Due To Engine Abnormality

Max Air has confirmed that Flight VM1623, with registration number 5N-BBM, made an emergency landing at Maiduguri International Airport on December 5, 2024, due to an observed engine abnormality shortly after takeoff.

According to a statement from the airline, the Captain noticed irregular engine parameters during ascent and, following standard operational procedures, safely shut down the affected engine and initiated an air return to Maiduguri.

The aircraft landed without incident, and all passengers and crew onboard were unharmed.

In a swift response to the situation, Max Air dispatched a rescue aircraft to Maiduguri, ensuring passengers reached their destinations with minimal delay. The airline expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the incident and appreciated the patience and cooperation of affected passengers.
