Other executive members of the IJSC jointly elected at the event included Mr. Dele Ogunyemi, a veteran journalist as the General Secretary; Mr. Niyi Daranijo, an IT technologist/designer; as Treasurer; Mr. Olutayo Abogan, an educationist as the Publicity Secretary; as well as Mr. Yinka Agbejimi, a Lagos-based investment advisor who was returned as the Welfare Officer.
Obeisun, in his inaugural address, emphasized the importance the new executive attaches to community socioeconomic development and massive gainful employment for the teeming youths through industrialization and agribusiness.
In this regard, he assured that he would further use his God-given endowments through Public Private Partnership to empower the community youths and women noting that this would serve as a feasible means to checkmate the notorious ‘japa’ syndrome.
According to him, young graduates from the community would be supported to be employers of labour through involvement in cottage industries and agribusiness rather than being perpetual job seekers.
Obeisun beckoned on well-meaning indigenes, friends of the community and the Diaspora members of the IJSC based in the United States of America, United Kingdom, Canada and other parts of the world to rally support for the new initiatives by being more proactive stressing that this is highly desirable in the overall interest of the organization and the community as a whole.
