UNIDEL VC Charges Staff, Students To Obey Commandments Of God, Constituted Authorities, Elders

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Delta, Agbor, Prof (Mrs) Stella Chinye Chiemeke, has charged staff and students of the university to obey the commandments of God, constituted authorities and elders in order to enjoy the blessings associated with total obedience as the institution begins the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

The Vice Chancellor stated this today in Agbor Campus of the university during the 49th Edition of the institution’s monthly intercessory prayer programme tagged: “Living in Total Obedience to God”.

Prof (Mrs) Chiemeke pointed out that no society, family or institution can prosper if stakeholders worked in an atmosphere of disobedience in all its ramifications.

She prayed God to bless all who are making genuine efforts to discharge their duties to the best of their abilities, noting that such gestures contributed immensely to the growth and development being witnessed in the university since inception.

In a brief exhortation in the ceremony, Pastor (Dr) John Ehiwarior, harped on the importance of obedience in receiving blessings from God and elders. He pointed out that it is never too late to begin to work in obedience as God is willing to forgive man’s obedience as long as he turns a new leave and imbibes the habit of total obedience.

Drawing from the biblical story of a conversation between Prophet Samuel and King Saul, Dr Ehiwario reminded the university community that God prefers obedience to all forms of sacrifice.

The intercessory session featured prayers of thanksgiving to God on Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, intercessory prayers for the growth and development of the country and Delta State as well as prayers for staff and students of the university on the commencement of a new academic session.

The October 2025 and 49th Edition of the University Monthly Intercessory Programme was attended by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof (Mrs) Patricia Etuna Mbah, the Registrar, Barr Richmond Omagbemi, other principal officers, staff and returning students in their numbers.
