FG Launches Student Venture Capital Grant
The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Youth Development, has launched the Student Venture Capital Grant, a landmark initiative providing up to N50 million in equity-free funding to student-led ventures.
The initiative aims to strengthen research, innovation, and entrepreneurship across tertiary institutions nationwide.
The grant has received overwhelming interest, with 17,914 applications from 402 institutions.

Shortlisted teams will pitch to a 12-member expert panel, turning campuses into innovation hubs and producing market-ready solutions.
Stakeholders, including the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), development partners, and government representatives, have praised the initiative as a transformative step under the Renewed Hope Agenda, reaffirming the government’s commitment to empowering student innovators.
