Journalists Have Done Well For Nigeria — Osawota

HRM Adaka the first, Andi Kayoma Osawota the Ovie of Orogun Kingdom, has commended journalists for their vital role in nation-building, noting that without the media, many unseen sides of society would remain so.

He said this when members of Oasis Magazine Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), paid him a courtesy visit following his emergence and installation as Adaka the first of Orogun Kingdom.

Osawota emphasized that journalism remains a powerful tool for truth-telling, accountability, and societal development, stressing that the media gives voice to the people and brings balance to public discourse.

Furthermore, he urged Oasis Magazine to continue to blaze the trail, just as he assured the media house and the chapel of his partnership.

Speaking during the visit, Publisher of Oasis Magazine, Pastor Daniel Umukoro, said the visit was to congratulate him on his new royal responsibility and prayed for wisdom, peace, and progress throughout his reign.

“We are here to also seek more partnership from you as you have done overtime,” he added.

The visit reaffirmed the long-standing relationship between the traditional institution and the media in promoting culture, unity, and development.

Also present during the visit were Comrade Joy Simon-Enamuotor, Chairman, Comrade Vivian Erivwode, Secretary, Comrade Ambrose Ologide, member and Comrade Jessica Omoni, member.
