Warri: Oyovwi Appreciates LG Over Donation Of Water Tanks To COE

The Provost of College of Education (COE), Warri, Dr Dickson Oyovwi JP, has appreciated Korea based electronic manufacturers for the donation of two solar powered 250 water tanks to the college.

Oyovwi made the appreciation in his keynote address during the commissioning of the water tanks at one of the college hostels on Thursday, 26th February, 2026.

He noted that the donation came at the nick of time, just as he also noted that the gesture was a show of socio-corporate responsibilities by LG electronic manufacturer to the college.

The Provost used the opportunity to call on other corporate organizations in Warri and environs to emulate the gesture of LG in the provision of basic facilities in the college so that their names can also be remembered for good by the college.

The Head, Corporate Affairs of LG electronic manufacturers, Mr Paul Uba in his keynote address, disclosed that LG electronic manufacturers planned to install 300 boreholes across the country, saying that 16 out of the 300 bore holes have so far be installed and that College of Education (COE), Warri is the second tertiary institution in Nigeria to benefit from the gesture.

The Secretary, Student Union Government (SUG) of College of Education, Warri, Miss Testimony Shagbidi who spoke on behalf of the students of the college, also appreciated LG electronic manufacturers for the gesture as she assured that the students will make good use of the water tanks.

Highpoint of the event was the commissioning of the water tanks by the Provost.

Some key officers and students of the college were present at the event while the Unuevworo (mouth piece) of the Etche R’ Ugboroke ( traditional
administrative unit) in Uvwie Kingdom (one of the host communities of the college), High Chief Godwin Ejumi and Elder Okpomo Agbiwen represented the Unuovwodo (traditional administrative of Ovie of Agbarha Warri Kingdom) of Edjeba Community (one of the host communities of the college) High Chief Cashier Ikpuri ( JP ) at the event, a respected Uvwie chief, Chief Ejiro Erifevieme also accompanied High Chief Godwin Ejumi to the event.
