By Our Reporter
Members of Ward 4 of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State have expressed deep sorrow over the sudden death of their leader, Archbishop Phillips Orovwuje.
In a reaction on Tuesday signed by Hon Ebojoh Ojeh Francis, Secretary, Ethiope East Local Government Area, on behalf of the ward, party members described his passing as a painful and irreplaceable loss, noting that the late Orovwuje was more than a political figure but a pillar, mentor, and father figure to many within the community.
The ward said the news of his death came as a huge shock, adding that his absence has created a significant vacuum not only in Ward 4 but across the entire Okpara community.
They praised his unwavering commitment to the APC and his steadfast support for the leadership structure in Ethiope East, stating that he consistently stood firm in defence of the party’s vision and decisions.
“Bishop Orovwuje was a bold and loyal leader who served with courage and dedication. He was always available for the people and remained committed to the growth and unity of the party,” the statement read.
The ward further noted that his contributions to grassroots mobilization and political development would not be forgotten, stressing that his legacy would continue to inspire both party members and the younger generation.
While mourning his loss, the ward said it has accepted his passing as the will of God, even as it acknowledged the deep pain felt across families, political groups, and the wider community.
They prayed for the repose of his soul and for strength for his family and loved ones to bear the loss.
