Oyovwi Appreciates Oborevwori For Support To COE Warri

The Provost of College of Education (COE) Warri , Dr Dickson Onovwakpoma Oyovwi JP has appreciated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his unwavering support for education and commitment of staff welfare of the college.
This was contained in his address at the press conference marking the 21st convocation of the institution on Thursday 16th April, 2026.
Oyovwi also appreciated Governor Oborevwori for the prompt payment of salaries and implementation of promotion of staff of the college.
He noted that the autonomy granted to the college in the area of staff remuneration has enabled the institution to recruit qualified personnel to fill critical vacancies “thereby strengthening our workforce. This is one area where the governor of our state, Rt . Hon ( Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori stands out.”
He further thanked Governor Oborevwori for his approval for the completion of the main administrative building of the college

Oyovwi had earlier listed his achievements so far since he assumed office in 2021 to include infrastructural developments through the immense assistance of Tietiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).
On the academic front, Dr Oyovwi proudly stated that the college has maintained an impressive record of experience as he stated that ” Since I assumed office in 2021, every accreditation exercise conducted, both for our NCE programmes and degree programmes in affiliation with universities have been successful .”
He assured that the college has maintained a culture of quality assurance in ensuring that its programmes meet and exceed national standards, adding: “I therefore assure the general public that certificates awarded by the College of Education Warri are credible, competitive, and international recognized.”
Oyovwi also proudly disclosed that the college is in the threshold of a major transformation in its academic structure with the implementation of the Dual Mandate policy approved by the Delta State Government.
He assured students of their safety with the provision of hostel accommodation and security lights on campus through the support of NDDC.
He further disclosed that the college was preparing students for life beyond classroom as he stated that every student of the college is required to undergo compulsory entrepreneurship training before graduation.
In relation to this, Dr Oyovwi disclosed that the college has established the COEWA Table Water Factory approved by the Delta State Ministry of Environment and NAFDAC.
In the question and answer session of the very impressive press conference, staff and governing council members of the college hailed Dr. Oyovwi on his achievements so far.
