Dema Denies Claiming Victory Over Omo-Agege, Accepts NDC Primary Defeat

Former Delta Central Senatorial aspirant, Olorogun Mrs. Onome Bernice Dema, has distanced herself from a statement circulating on social media and other platforms, describing it as a forgery that does not reflect her views or political position.

In a press statement, Dema said she neither authored nor authorized the release of the statement being attributed to her, stressing that she was completely dissociating herself from its contents.

She acknowledged that she contested the NDC senatorial primaries for Delta Central Senatorial District and gave the race her best effort, but accepted the outcome of the exercise after losing to Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who emerged as the party’s flag bearer for the 2027 Delta Central Senatorial election.

According to her, she accepted the result of the primaries in good faith and remains committed to the ideals of democracy and party loyalty.

Dema further alleged that the statement was the handiwork of individuals she described as “filth columnists” operating within the Ede Dafinone campaign, accusing them of attempting to create confusion and project views she never expressed.

She maintained that the alleged effort was aimed at undermining the popularity and acceptance of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege across Delta Central, insisting that the people of the district would not be misled by what she termed political propaganda.

Reaffirming her political stance, Dema declared her total support for Omo-Agege and said she had directed members of her political structure and supporters across the district to rally behind the party’s candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.

“I stand fully, firmly, and without reservation behind Senator Ovie Omo-Agege. I have given him my complete and unqualified support, and I have extended the same directive to every member of my political family and supporters,” she stated.

She also criticized those behind the alleged forgery, saying the resort to fabricated statements reflected panic rather than political strength.

Dema urged her supporters to remain calm, focused and united, expressing confidence that victory was assured for the party in Delta Central.

The former aspirant concluded by thanking her supporters for their loyalty and continued commitment to the party’s success.
