Betisam Educational Centre Qualifies For SEPLAT/NNPC PEARLs Quiz In Asaba

Students of Betisam Educational Centre, Abraka, are set to represent their school at the upcoming SEPLAT/NNPC Joint Venture PEARLs Quiz Competition after securing qualification for the prestigious academic contest.

The organisers have officially confirmed the school’s participation and directed it to present a team comprising three SS2 students and one teacher.

The competition is scheduled to hold on June 22, 2026, at Bon Transtel Hotel, Asaba, beginning at 9:00 a.m. prompt.

Ahead of the event, organisers have emphasised strict adherence to safety protocols during transportation of participating students.

Teachers and school administrators were advised to ensure the safe movement of students to and from the venue, with clear compliance on approved travel arrangements.

Schools without dedicated buses were encouraged to make use of only recognised motor parks and transport services, while avoiding roadside pickups. They were also directed to submit vehicle details, including registration numbers and drivers’ information, to school authorities prior to departure for proper monitoring.

Furthermore, schools travelling from outside Asaba and its environs will be provided accommodation. Such institutions have been advised to come prepared with overnight bags.

The school’s delegation will be led by Comrade Stephen Ewagba, Director 2 of Betisam Educational Centre, who is expected to coordinate the students throughout the competition.

The qualification of Betisam Educational Centre underscores the school’s commitment to academic excellence and provides its students with another platform to showcase their intellectual abilities among peers from across the state.

The PEARLs Quiz Competition is designed to promote academic excellence, critical thinking, and healthy intellectual engagement among secondary school students, with emphasis on Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Biology and English Studies, alongside broader science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM)-related disciplines.
