JUST IN: Abducted Oyo Pupils, Teachers Regain Freedom
The pupils and teachers who were abducted by gunmen in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State have regained their freedom.
The development was confirmed on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a post on his verified X account.
> “Finally, the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Orire, Oyo, have been freed by their abductors,” Onanuga wrote.
Although the victims have been released, authorities are yet to provide details on the circumstances surrounding their freedom, including whether any ransom was paid or the operation that led to their release.
The abduction had sparked widespread concern across the country, with calls from various groups and stakeholders urging security agencies and the Federal Government to ensure the safe return of the victims.
