Ribadu, Gbajabiamila Lead Presidential Delegation To Oyo Over School Kidnap
OGBOMOSO, Oyo State — A high-powered presidential delegation has arrived in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, following the reported abduction of pupils and teachers from two primary schools in the area.
The delegation is expected to proceed to Esiele and Yawota communities in Orire Local Government Area, where armed men reportedly carried out coordinated attacks on Baptist Nursery and Primary Schools, abducting about 46 pupils and teachers.
Leading the delegation is the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. Other members include the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun; the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa; Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe; and the Special Adviser to the President on Public Communications, Sunday Dare.
The visit comes amid heightened efforts by the Federal Government to secure the release of the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
According to sources, President Bola Tinubu has activated a series of coordinated security operations involving relevant agencies to facilitate the rescue of the abducted pupils and teachers while ensuring the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the attack.

The abduction has sparked concern among residents and education stakeholders, with calls mounting for enhanced security around schools and rural communities vulnerable to criminal attacks.
Security agencies are yet to provide official details on the ongoing rescue operation, but authorities have assured the public that efforts are underway to secure the safe return of all those abducted.
