Delta State APC Did Not Zone Guber Ticket To North— State Chairman
The Chairman, All Progressives Congress, APC, Prophet Jones Erue, has debunked reports that the party in the state zoned the gubernatorial ticket to Delta North Senatorial District, adding that they do not have any intentions to do such.
In a press sratement made available to journalists, Erue added that other elective positions will not also be zoned, saying that zoning is alien to the party’s constitution.
He said: “APC Delta has made tremendous progress towards building a united and formidable front,” saying that the party is poised to unseat the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, who he said has been involved in poor governance.
He assured members that the party’s primaries will be free, fair and credible and one guided by APC’s constitution in the choice of all candidates.
According to him, there will be no imposition of candidates, saying that the party would not run on a zonal basis.
Erue urged members “to continue the confidence-building process across the length and breadth of the state.”
