Mob Sets Suspected Tricycle Thief Ablaze, As Police Arrest Two Others In Delta

Angry mobs at about 7p.m. on Tuesday set a suspected tricycle thief ablaze at the popular Okumagba Estate in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, Oasis magazine can report.
It was learnt that two other members of the criminal gang were also arrested by men of the Nigeria Police Force”B” Division as one managed to escape.
The four-man-robber- gang is said to have shot sporadically into the during an attempt to rob and cart away a tricycle from its operator.
It was gathered that the tricycle operator raised alarm, attracting other tricycle operators as well as passersby who gave the suspects a chase.
In the process, one of them was apprehended and set ablaze before the arrival of the Police at the scene.
After combing of the area, the Police also arrested the other two suspects who are cooling off their heels in detention.
The Divisional Police Officer”B” Division, SP Ebi Orubiri, declined comments on the matter as he referred our correspondents to speak with the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka.
Contacted, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Mustafa confirmed the report.
According to CP Mustafa, “It is confirmed.They were caught trying to rob a Keke. One escaped, two were arrested and one was set ablaze.”
