Ugborhen Community Donates Vehicles To Security Agencies In Sapele LGA

As part of efforts to create an enabling environment devoid of rancour and to maintain the relative peace in line with the ‘SMART Agenda’ of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa ensuring that security gets priority in his administration, Ugborhen, an oil producing community in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State, have donated vehicles to security agencies in the area.
The gesture, our correspondent gathered was a joint efforts by the Ugborhen Community and NPDC/SEPLAT venture.
Speaking to newsmen during the commissioning of the Toyota Hilux(s) at the Ugborhen Multipurpose Hall, the President Community Development Committee, Mr. Philip Mebradu said that the exercise is a collaborative support to the security system in Ugborhen and its environ.
Mebradu, while appreciating NPDC/SEPLAT for the collaboration, added that the primary aim of every government at the community, state and local government or Federal levels is to provide adequate security, maintain law and order and sustain the relative peace that exist in that entity, hence the provision of the vehicles is to support the security architecture of Sapele Local Government.
He again said that as an oil producing community, the youths need empowerment and more infrastructures from their host companies and the government.

On his part, the immediate past Chairman of Ugborhen Community, Mr. Festus Akume, while speaking to newsmen, expressed deep satisfaction for what God has done in Ugborhen community.
He noted that the success stories we are witnessing today was initiated by his administration and facilitated by this present administration led by a very pragmatic Interim Chairman, Mr. Philip Mebradu which is a testimony of stewardship by the administration.
Similarly, Chairman of Sapele Local Government Area, Hon. Eugene Inoaghan, in his remarks thanked Ugborhen community, NPDC/SEPLAT joint venture for the efforts made in ensuing that security is given a boost and peace sustained in the local government.
The brief ceremony was well attended by Navy Capt. E.O Ekpe Young, Deputy Commander, Sapele, Mr. Robinson Davie, Representative of DSS Sapele, SP. Abubakar Akande, DPO Sapele Division, Staff Sergeant Yahaya Ibrahim, representative of the Commanding Officer, 19 Battallion of the Nigeria Army, Koko, various stakeholders in Ugborhen Community, Sapele Local Government Area, traditional chiefs from Okpe kinhdom and management of NPDC/SEPLAT Joint venture.
