By Daniel Dafe
A respected monarch in Delta State, regarded as one of the brightest in the oil-rich state, Ovie of Effurun-Otor Kingdom, Ughelli South, HRM King Duku II, has advised that local government elections should be cancelled, adding that state governors should be allowed to appoint chairmen and councilors to pilot the affairs of the councils in their states.
Duku said this via a Facebook post on Monday.
His post suggests that this issue should be considered by the National Assembly that is determined to pursue the amendment of Nigeria’s constitution.
