Governor Okowa Will Finish Strong On Projects In Delta Communities –Omimi

In spite of the economic downturn occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic, Governor lfeanyi Okowa is determined to finish strong on his mandate to Deltans.
Giving this assurance during a sensitization meeting with community leaders women and youths drawn from Warri and Burutu federal constituencies, Uvwie and Ethiope East local government areas at the Government house annex, Edjeba, Warri, the Political Adviser to the State Governor, Omimi Esquire, said the Okowa administration through its ‘Stronger Delta’ vision was determined to ensure that every community in the state benefits from its development initiatives.
While acknowledging that government is a continuum, Omimi Esquire assured the various community representatives that the welfare of the people at the grassroots is very paramount even inspite of competing demands from various critical sectors of the state.
He further described the approval of the sensitization meeting which will take him and his team to all the federal constituencies of the state, as a testimony of the Governor’s belief in feeling the pulse of the people.
Omimi Esquire while stating that no meaningful development can take place in an insecure environment, the Political Adviser reminded the community leaders that the recent proactive launch of the “operation Delta Hawk ” joint task force was aimed at nipping in the bud the unwholesome activities of criminal elements across the state, charging them to report any suspicious activity of undesirable elements promptly to law enforcement agencies.
The Governor’s political aide listed various road projects spanning various communities, establishment of a technical college in each local government of the state, multi billion naira floating market in some riverine areas, waterways security among other initiatives as proof of government’s desire to raise their living standard.
In their separate remarks, the various community representatives, thanked Governor Okowa for the novel initiative of the sensitization meeting, appealing that it should be a regular interface which will enable government feel their pulse with regards to their challenges.
They commended the Governor for his administration’s various projects in their communities, ranging from roads, support for widows, the YAGEP/STEP programmes that has eased their poverty burdens as well as his initiative of interfacing with them through his appointees.
They appealed to the Governor to look into critical needs facing them such as electricity, potable water supply and medical facilities.
The sensitization meeting was also attended by top government functionaries and other stakeholders.
Among those present at the maiden sensitization meeting were the Commissioner representing ltsekiri ethnic nationality on the board of DESOPADEC, Hon Griftson Omatsuli, former PDP Delta South Chairman and currently Executive Assistant (Political) to the Governor, Hon. Kenneth Efejuku and Comrade Hope George, SSA Political to the Governor, among others.
