Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise To Hold On Saturday In Delta
The monthly environmental sanitation exercise for the month of January will hold on Saturday, 30 January, 2021 between the hours of 7.00 a.m. and 10.00 a.m.
There will be restriction of movement of persons and vehicles, except those involved in inter-state journeys and those engaged in essential duties.
A statement signed by the State Director of Information, Mrs Theresa Oliko, advised residents to clean up their premises by cutting overgrown weeds, desilt their drains and other environmental hygienic practices to prevent the spread of diseases.

According to the statement, the commissioner for environment, staff of the Ministry of Environment, officials of the Taskforce on Environment and other relevant authorities will monitor the cleanup exercise while local government authorities will evacuate the resultant refuse for proper disposal.
The statement emphasized that those found not taking part in the exercise will be arrested and brought before the mobile magistrate court, and fined accordingly.
