Police Arrest Woman, Lover Involved In Kidnap Of 6-Year-Old Girl In Abraka

Kidnappers of a 6-year-old girl in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State, Courage, have been arrested by the police.

Oasis Magazine (OM) reported that Courage was kidnapped in Abraka by a woman and her lover. Courage was kept for six days and released after about N800, 000 ransom was paid by her parents. She was seen roaming the streets in Benin City and taken to Adesuwa Police Station by a lady. She has since been reunited with her parents in Abraka.

How They Were Arrested
According to sources, the lady and her lover, Happy kidnapped a 4-year-old boy in Sapele and dumped him in Abraka after a ransom was paid to them.

The mother of the boy with security agencies were able to track the phone number the kidnappers used in contacting them. She was shocked to discover that she was her thrift collector and was familiar to her.

The said lady was arrested while Happy was at large.

Happy’s number was tracked and it was discovered that he was in Abraka.

This, made the mother of the missing 4-year-old boy storm Abraka and had to seek the help of the police in Abraka to help arrest Happy.

To their amazement, they discovered that the missing boy was in the custody of the police in Abraka. Police sources said the child was found roaming the streets of Abraka and was taken to the police station in the community.

Before now, the woman and her lover were on the wanted list of Abraka Police Division after the kidnap of the 6-year-old girl.

Their phone number for receiving alert from their UBA account used in receiving the ransom after kidnapping Courage was already in their possession.

With the support of the police in Abraka, Happy was arrested on the 1st of January, 2021 days after his partner was nabbed by the police.

At the time of filing this report, the case file of Courage has been transferred to Sapele, as the kidnappers are cooling off in police custody in Sapele.

The lovers will soon be charged to court for both kidnap cases.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Onome Onowakpoyeya
confirmed the arrest of the suspects.

Though she did not give us the name of the woman kidnapper, she said that the lady was a commercial sex worker and was into luring children from their secured environment, kidnapping them and asking for ransom.

The PPRO advised parents to be vigilant and always watch out for their kids to avoid a reoccurrence of such incidence.
