Police Officer Shot Dead Along Kwale-Asaba Road

A team of mobile police men were attacked at a community called Agu few kilometres from Asaba end before Ossissa Bridge on Kwale-Asaba Road at about 4.15 p.m today.

It could not be ascertained who carried out the attack and why as at the time of filing this report.

Unfortunately, one of the mobile police men was shot dead in the attack as the lifeless body of the deceased, lying in his blood, was seen by our correspondent few minutes after the attack.

An oil tanker with open doors and an abandoned motor cycle were seen at the scene of the attack.

A white colour security patrol van with some armed policemen arrived when our correspondent departed the scene.

Meanwhile, motorists plying both sides of the road were scared to proceed on their journeys until the arrival of the said security patrol van.
