New Group Emerges In Support Of Governor Emmanuel’s Succession Plans

A new group under the auspices of PDP United Family (PUF) has emerged in Akwa Ibom State in support of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s succession plans.

The group which has Evang Obot Friday Obot as the Director General also has other credible politicians as Coordinators in all the 31 LGAs in Akwa Ibom State.

Addressing the inaugural meeting of the group, the Director General, Evang. Obot Friday Obot said the primary objective of the group is to canvass support for the new state Chairman of the party (Peoples Democratic Party), Hon. Aniekan Akpan and the succession plans of Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2023, maintaining that the group will work for the governor’s choice of successor

He congratulated Hon. Aniekan Akpan who according to him is the grand patron of the group on his emergence as the State Chairman of PDP and lauded the state governor, Udom Emmanuel for finding him fit to pilot the affairs of the party in the state.

He described the State Chairman as another loyal party man who has what it takes to build a strong, united and reliable party and also has what it takes to lead the party to victories in the 2023 elections and beyond.

Evang. Obot tasked members on loyalty to the party and the state governor noting that the group will not tolerate any form of disloyalty or insincerity among members.

Obot who encouraged members to remain steadfast and committed in their support for the succession plans of Governor Udom Emmanuel Emmanuel and the success of the party in the state charged all the chapter coordinators of the group to liaise with other like-minds in the chapters to drum support for the success of the state governor to have a smooth landing for the benefit of the state.

While urging them to work hard especially at the grassroots to ensure the success of the group, Evang Obot assured members of better days ahead as their interest will be protected if they remain loyal to the end.

He charged the chapter coordinators to ensure that only credible individuals are admitted into the group as there is no room for people with questionable characters.

Some members who spoke at the meeting expressed gratitude for the emergence of the group and vowed to stand with Governor Udom Emmanuel to succeed.
